Meet Daunea | Fashionpreneur & Business Consultant & Wardrobe Stylist/Shopper/Image Consultant & Boutique Owner & Social Media Manager/Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Daunea and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Daunea, why did you pursue a creative career?
I’ve always been a full time creative! Born into a musical family I grew up as a performing arts baby my entire life. I am a former ballerina/professional dancer who studied dance & minored in drama & music at Bethune Elementary School, Parkway Middle School, graduated from Dillard High School & professionally danced in courses/dance groups at Florida A&M University. I’ve always been a lover & supporter of the arts & my background afforded me the opportunity to not only perform but also fall in love with costume design, beauty/glam & fashion! After graduating college, becoming a military wife, giving birth to my second beautiful daughter (mother of 2 amazing young women) I decided to relocate to Atlanta for a new start & to pursue my dreams (professionally & personally).Along the wayI was blessed to work some amazing jobs in corporate America utilizing my degree in Business (ie; Bank of America-Loan Officer, Autotrader-Research Analyst, AT&T specialist….) yet always yearned to fulfill my passion and work in the fashion industry. After a lay off, I decided to go full throttle, bet on myself and begin my dream career. I networked, met some amazing connections, established great relationships in the fashion/music/entertainment industry, did some research & began my career as a celebrity fashion stylist. I completed a Fashion 1 on 1 Styling course with Styles by Maxx, upon completion I was hired as their Head Assistant Stylist & that led me to building my clientele roster! I’ve been styling & personally shopping for over 17 years now & it’s been an amazing journey working behind the scenes & camera. I’ve also followed my dreams of being a boutique owner & launched my E-commerce boutique for women www.Girlie217.com 10 years ago!
What should our readers know about your business?
I own an E-commerce boutique specializing in everyday women’s wear www.Girlie217.com! I am a personal stylist & shopper (for celebrities & non celebrities, because in my eyes everyone is a celebrity). I assist others and provide 1 on 1 business coaching for people who are interested in starting their own online clothing/fashion business via Dropshipping or the original inventory way & I also provide vendor lists.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
