We had the good fortune of connecting with Deekron Krikorian and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Deekron, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born overseas, in a communist country (Romania, in the 70s). Even though my family left the country while I was still a baby, I would hear stories growing up of how they struggled to find food and even basic needs. In addition, it was a very oppressive government. They endured a lot and moved to the US to create a better future for my brother and I. This made me really appreciate all the freedoms and opportunities I have today.

(This next one’s gonna be deep…)
The second major factor that impacted my upbringing is the fact I’m the grandson of a survivor of the Armenian Genocide of 1915. When the Armenians were systematically exterminated from their historical land in Eastern Turkey by the Young Turk regime, my grandfather lost his dad and his two brothers and was separated from the rest of his family. He fled for his life at the age of ten, leaving everything behind (and eventually finding his way to Romania). I wouldn’t be alive if it wasn’t for his courage and grit to survive the atrocities and start a new life. I’m grateful for this ongoingly, and it helps me appreciate being alive.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
This is a pretty huge question! (but a good one, which requires some explanation)…

My career has had many twists and turns. I started in Corporate America but left because it didn’t feel like my calling. Worked for a small business, then eventually launched my own business.

The major iteration of my career has been: CPA -> Management Consultant -> Sales & Marketing Leader -> Tech Startup Founder in the Fitness Space -> Transformation Coach in Health & Wellness.

It hasn’t been easy. Every career shift and reinvention requires you to start over in many ways. This includes taking a step back both career-wise and financially. I’m proud to say that I succeeded at every ‘stop’ along the way, performing in the top 10% of the field.

The primary motivation for these continuous reinventions was, in a nutshell, ‘following my heart.’ Letting my passion lead me and taking risks. I like to joke around and say, “I’ve left good jobs, good careers, good women, and good cities.” But it was all done with the goal of moving toward where the universe had been pulling me.

Tony Robbins says that in order to live an extraordinary life, you must master two skills: ‘the science of achievement and the art of fulfillment.’ This means we have to be fulfilled in what we do (which I finally am) while also having success in our careers and finances. The pursuit of these worthy goals is what’s been driving me. (I’m still getting there, at the rip age of fifty-one).

What I’m most proud of is taking risks, being persistent, and finally getting to a place where I’m using my skills, knowledge, and talents to make a true difference in people’s lives.

Helping people completely transform in both mind and body is not easy work. It requires a lot and takes a lot, but the difference it makes is life-changing.

I work with an over-40 population. Male and female executives and professionals who are overworked, stressed, and overwhelmed.

I’ve developed a 4-step method called The META Body Transformation System. It empowers my clients to better balance their work and life with maintaining effective health and mindset habits, so they can have the body, health, and energy that will support their most meaningful goals.

I’ve coached people to transform from being unwell to healthy, from concerned to confident, and from confused to clear.

They’ve come off of medications, lost stubborn weight, and gotten stronger. I’ve also helped them transform how they think so they can gain greater peace, clarity, confidence, and consistency through greater self-awareness.

I’m currently authoring a book called, ‘The Optimized Executive (Look, Feel, and Perform Your Best by Elevating Your Metabolism & Empowering Your Mind).’ It launches in Q2, and I’m excited to get it into as many people’s hands as possible!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
To be perfectly honest, I’m not a big fan of people visiting me. Not because I don’t like playing tour guide or spending time with friends, but because I’m so short on time working on the business, it’s hard to break away. (Life of an entrepreneur!)

But if someone I REALLY like/love was coming to town, I’d obviously show them a good time.

Fortunately, I live in one of the most badass cities in the world (Miami), and there would be a ton of options. If they’re more daytime focused, we’d probably do the beach, drive around the coast, and take in all the water and nature Miami offers. Maybe take in a fitness or yoga class and do brunch by the water. (Just don’t ask me to play golf or go fishing! lol) Key Biscayne is an area I really like for daytime exploration. The Standard in South Beach is always fabulous.

If they wanted more of a nightlife experience, then we’d probably go to restaurants, bars, rooftops, and/or nightclubs in areas like Wynwood, Brickell, and my new hood, Coral Gables.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There were many people and programs that helped me in my journey to become who I am today and allowed me to develop the skills I needed to impact people at a deeper level.

Starting with the amazing upbringing of my parents, to my schooling, to the sports teams I’ve been on, to the many personal development programs and coaches I sought out to develop myself. Not to mention close ‘soul brothers and soul sisters’ who see my greatness and hold space for me. Too many to list, but they know who they are, and I am eternally grateful!
