Meet Devin Vance | Owner of Classic Marble Restoration

We had the good fortune of connecting with Devin Vance and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Devin, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Honesty is the single most important value to me.  Although our team of marble polishers can restore just about any natural stone out there, some projects are not ideal to attempt. We never want to leave a jobsite with a homeowner or manager who is less than thrilled with our results. This is why setting realistic expectations from the start is a must, and this cannot be accomplished unless we are completely honest and transparent – even if it means walking away from a potential opportunity.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We are a family business and are owner-operated – for nearly 30 years. As the Owner, I personally visit homes, commercial projects, and yachts on a daily basis to meet with homeowners, Property and Estate Managers, and Owner Representatives to discuss their stone and its maintenance needs. During these meetings I make it a point to ask questions, take notes, and try to understand the usage and applications for the property itself. Natural stone presents many variables that consumers do not always know about – from weathering and erosion, to pedestrian and customer foot traffic and usage, to cleaning and maintenance do’s and do not’s. We can provide different finishes and shine levels for many natural stone surfaces, as well as use varieties of sealers for different natural stone applications. Educating the customer is the most crucial element of my sale, as it will set the stage for what we can realistically do to improve their project and its ongoing care. Our team always aims to provide excellent communication, punctuality, cleanliness, and professionalism in every service that we take part of.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them?
Living only in Broward County, FL for my entire adult life I feel as though I haven’t even begun to explore my great state. I love to attend sporting events with friends and family, mainly the Miami Dolphins, Miami Marlins, and the Miami Heat. Cooking and great food are my biggest passions in my free time. If I am not grilling, barbecuing, or cooking at home – I love taking my family out to dinner and trying new restaurants. My wife created an Instagram page to show off some of my personal handy work around the kitchen and backyard bbq (@slicethemeat). I try to have fun and spread my passion for food. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
All credit and praise for me and my company belongs to my father, for giving me the opportunity to join our family’s business in the first place. Additionally, I would also like to thank my brother Craig, whom this would not be possible without. It was Craig that had the vision over 30 years ago to create a marble polishing business here in South Florida at the cusp of a building boom and local area growth. Craig passed away in 2018, but his vision and creativity for greatness is still intact and honored in every aspect of our everyday business.
