We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Boaz Man and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Boaz, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
When a pet comes in sick to our animal hospital it can be a devastating situation for the family. I always strive to understand the individual needs of pet parents that rely on us to help their fur babies. I discovered the human animal bond as a child and this emotional bond still drives me to provide the best care possible for the pets that rely on us. As a veterinarian I have taken an oath to protect and preserve that very important relationship between pets and pet parents. Pet parents rely on us to solve their problems, so keeping things simple and understandable is paramount. Communication is the key to any relationship and taking the time to listen to and understand to concerns enables me to provide solutions that make sense. Overall I feel fortunate to be part of a rewarding profession that I am very passionate about.
What should our readers know about your business?
When you walk into our animal hospital you will be greeted by a small team who does their best to treat you like part of our family. We are very much an extension of our neighborhood and are thankful to be part of an amazing community of pet lovers. Our team works hard to provide excellent care in a warm environment that is up to date on the latest medical care and veterinary technology. We strongly believe that seeing is believing, which is why we post pet stories and educational content regularly across our various social media and youtube channels. My passion is helping brachycephalic pets (such as french bulldogs, english bulldogs, and pugs) who suffer from Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome, which is an animal welfare issue. We help these dogs breathe better and thrive by providing corrective airway laser surgery of the nose and throat.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Boca Raton has great beaches, so a trip to the beach would definitely be on the list. Additionally, there are great restaurants and nightlife in downtown Boca Raton, near Mizner Park, as well as in downtown Delray Beach. We have numerous recreational parks for families that we can take advantage of with our great weather. We also have many dog parks to choose from along with waterfront dining and a little “surf city vibe” in nearby Deerfield Beach.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am extremely thankful to have an amazing team at our animal hospital, as they are integral to my success. I would like to thank my family who has always supported me in my dream to become a veterinarian. Without their support I would not be where I am today. I also am thankful to my teachers who gave me the tools to succeed as well as my veterinary professors at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Ross enabled me to realize my dream of becoming a doctor of veterinary medicine and I will always cherish the time I spent there. I am thankful that my hospital is certified by both the American Animal Hospital Association and is also Fear Free Certified. These organizations help us stay up to date on the best medical standards of care for pets and help us confirm that we are appropriately addressing the emotional wellbeing of the pets that we serve.
