Hi ELAINA, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
When I think of taking risk , I think of ,one who has no other option in their own mind. One who almost feels obligated to go against what appears to be normal to the average individual. That’s how i felt, and still feel. When I started this journey for real, it was a Risk to abandon the safe way of thinking about my future and the way my life should have been planned out. However I took the risk to become a full time poet/ spoken word artist Because i knew my gift was different and not like anyone else. Once I embraced my gift then my risk turned into Faith . I began to understand Purpose and my Obligation to fulfil My true reason for existing. Which is to Please God my Creator and everything else falls right into place

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Honestly I have such a love for ART, and such a passion for people who use their natural God given gifts and talents and give them back to the world as inspiration. My style of spoken word is A soulful combination of my singing and poetry combined. I have 3 published spoken word albums. But the way I do it is different because I consider myself a servant of God . So I don’t get to control the art in its form. I just show up. The people validate the experience they get after I perform. Believe it or not I’m always so humbled because Its almost like an out of body experience each time i perform. April 16,2022 I produced an entire show called ELAINA THE POET BRINGZ THE JAZZ It was held at The world Famous Broward Center Performing Arts in Ft. Lauderdale Fl. I wrote it and produced and directed the entire show. with singers and musicians and dancers and of course I featured several new poems with original hooks . That was one of my biggest challenges thus far , People told me it was the BEST Show they have been to Hands Down! I thank God for that. But it was an experience that has triggered something in me to create more shows and take them to the next level.
In 2021 I also started a VLOG called E.A.T with THE POET where i would invite special guest to discuss real world issues
but also to tug on the spiritual conscience of the people. What started on YouTube last year, has now moved to Internet radio called STRONG ARM RADIO located in Hialeah, FL Every Monday at 430pm
I want people to know I’m here to stay and I’m going where God leads me. My brands Poetry is a Gift, Elaina the poet, E.A.T with the poet , and Elaina The Poet Bringz the Jazz are all apart of Gods plans for the work he has for me. So I will do this until my last breath.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So I love to eat. So if my Friend was here . I would plan us a good time filled with food and love.

on Monday I would take them with me to Strong Arm Studios while I do my LIVE radio show and even have them as a special guest , that night I would take them to the REDROOSTER restaurant in over town Miami where Ingrid B is “ontheBside” with Live Music and the best local and international artist come from all over the US just to visit THEBSIDE for her Mellow Mondays.

Tuesday we would go eat the Best Wings and Fries at “Smitty’s Wings” located on Sistrunk Blvd , the hottest and most popping wing spot in Ft. Lauderdale owned by Senator Chris Smith. then after I would take them with me to Bible study at The word of Living God Ministries in Pompano Beach Fl , where my mom Valerie Whorley Williams teaches the bible study and it is so Good!

Wednesday we would get dressed up really cute and head over to Krave Lounge in Sunrise Fl for a night of Poetry and spoken word and good cooked food, which is so fulfilling , we would totally enjoy our evening.

Thursday we would go visit Gigi’s Music Café in Sunrise Fl, where they actually awarded me a Gold Star on there venue Floor Because they celebrated 10 years in business and wanted to pay tribute to their own local stars , like HOLLYWOD pays tribute to their stars . The food is so tasty and the music is a true Vibe

Friday we would go and enjoy Ft. Lauderdale beach , do some Yoga, then head over to Shooters Restaurant for some nice brunch or Lunch.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shout out my mother (author) VALERIE WHORLEY-WILLIAMS , SHE IS A TRUE LEADER. Yet so humbled , she is my support system and my encouragement along the way. This is priceless and I could never really repay her, for her unconditional love and support of Elaina the Poet

I gotta shout out MY sister Erica Whorley. Who I actually dedicated a poem to off my 2cnd spoken word album title #CLEARVOLUME released SEPT 0F 2019 . SHE IS MY ROCK! SHE ROCKS!! Any time I have an event she is one of the 1st ones to spend what ever it cost to show her undying support!

I got to shout out my Lil sister Elexis Ponder who is actually an upcoming singer , she is a phenomenal vocalist, who sings my backgrounds when i do live performances.
