We had the good fortune of connecting with Elisabetta Bucci and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elisabetta, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I come from a background of working in the luxury world , I saw how customers react to buying something precious , specially jewelry, there is so much thought and intention . In the ready to wear world, people buy in a very transactional way. I wanted to change that, my line is based on customization and personalization , when my clients order one of my jackets they are part of the designing process. The result is a piece of clothing that you cherish. Not fast fashion and disposable.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I love color – my clothes are well made , well priced and original. That is why my clients gravitate towards SABAL. One of my best sellers is my “weekender” cardigan , it’s 100percent cashmere and tie dyed with beautiful natural pigments. The cardigans retail for $580. There is nothing like them at this price point and quality on the market. A comparable is three times the price . Or my army jackets , each jackets is one of a kind , and one comes with the client’s monogram. Which they design with an interactive tool on my website .

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The beach first and foremost ! I’d take them to SoHo House or Faena for a nice catered relaxed day at the beach. Lunches or dinners Mandolin , Michaels , Forte dei Marmi , Wabisabi.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The city of Miami ! I moved to Miami a few years ago and the city inspired me to create my clothing brand SABAL
