We had the good fortune of connecting with Elle Mawardi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Elle, what do you attribute your success to?
For me, building personal relationships with my customers, many of whom are repeat customers, would have to be the most important factor behind the success of Beauty & The Board. Each client has different wants and needs and its important to me as the owner of the business to make sure all requests are being heard.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Beauty & The Board is South Florida’s first luxury grazing board company. Growing up in a household of 10, my parents have always instilled the importance of togetherness a kitchen brings to a home. This notion holds true until today. Today, I find myself searching for any excuse to host a small gathering be it with family or friends, creating that same nostalgic feeling of a full house. I started Beauty & The Board because to me, grazing boards capture what I loved most about family gatherings growing up, the beautiful experience of human interaction and sharing food and time together. My motto is “gather around and be our guest!” My admiration for food and food design stem all the way from my grandma’s restaurant days and has stuck with me ever since. Sourcing ingredients both from local businesses as well as wholesale distributors. Beauty & The Board is proudly eco-conscious, with a commitment to serving the local community and preserving the environment. Our mindful efforts include using environmentally sustainable birchwood boards, packaging and disposables, always striving for minimal food and packaging wastage in our preparation. The accomplishment I am most proud of is securing a partnership between Beauty & The Board & Goldbelly, a gourmet marketplace for food purveyors all across the country. We now ship fun, interactive do-it-yourself kits nationwide via www.goldbelly.com
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Walk around Wynwood Walls
Afternoon:
Lunch @ Joe’s Take Away Picnic & walk South of Fifth park
Frost Museum
Evening:
Dinner @ Uchi
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to thank Alex Ciklik for nominating me! Alex and I grew up together and watching our different entrepreneurial stories unfold over the years has been such an inspiration to watch
