We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexandra Bendayan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexandra, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
During COVID-19, I spent countless hours feeling trapped indoors and useless with all my free time. Despite being a full-time law student, I wanted to do more than just study off books and watch Netflix on the weekends. Creating The Picnic Haven has allowed me to see my full potential as a young entrepreneur and business owner.
What should our readers know about your business?
The Picnic Haven started out as an idea to provide locals in Miami with a safe, private and unique experience. We wanted to create a haven where guests can feel relaxed and comfortable from their hectic lives. Within one month from opening, we were fully booked until the end of 2020. The overwhelming support was unexpected and our growth has steadily continued. In every picnic our goal is to see our guests happy and make them feel special.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Miami is a great place for outdoor activities. Anything related to water sports is never a bad idea! From kayaking, jet skiing, snorkeling, and fishing, Miami is a great place to experience fun on the water. Another wonderful benefit to living in Miami is the mix of cultures and it’s cuisines. Wynwood is a perfect spot to visit for great eats with a fusion of cultures and a modern twist.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Firstly, I would like to thank my mother who has taught me everything I know about event planning, decorating, and always emphasizing the benefits of being different. I would also like to give thanks to my father, who has been a business owner for more than 35 years. He has taught me how to take responsibility for all the work, create a workplace with respect, and to always strive for the highest standard.
