We had the good fortune of connecting with Ellonjsa Brutton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ellonjsa, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
I am a mother of one, I have a daughter. I believe the most impact I have had on my daughter is allowing her to see certain mistakes I made to let her know that I am not perfect. So she don’t resent me later thinking I was perfect. I apologize when I am wrong. I allow her to have a voice by expressing how she feels, instead of having her grow up thinking she does not have a voice. I want her to grow up and not think her voice does not matter. I also allow her to walk in her own identity rather than live through my childhood traumas. I want her to know as she navigates through life, mommy will always hold her hand and not control her path of life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being a influencer/public figure was something that chose me. It was never something I always wanted to be. People admired me for who I was, my style, or my kind words. I would like to think me just genuinely being me got me to where I am today. I always had a passion for fashion so I express myself with what I put on, long as it made sense to me and I felt like I command a room when I walk in. I always had a interest in the way others think, so I started studying psychology. My notes was full of knowledge that I felt others may not have known, so I decided to write a book. I enjoy sharing knowledge that I learned, so I decided to start a podcast. Aside from it all my favorite thing to do, so I also became a travel agent.

I wouldn’t say it was easy but I also wouldn’t say it was hard. The path I am on I flowed into it naturally after every challenge that came my way, rather it was unexpected death, mental battles, grief, abandon, losing and gaining I made it through my dark days shinning.

Lessons I’ve learned along the way, start with the end goal in mind, nobody owes you nothing, you have to want it as bad as you expect others to want it for you. You are the bag, secure it. They call you crazy for doing it but later want to know how. Being a boss isn’t for everyone. Be your first investor. Being kind gets you further than being rich, when you run out of money your kindness will pave the way.

I want people to see me and know that everything I do is from the heart. Know that the minute my heart is not in proper posture my desire is no longer align. I always tell people I rather you know me for who I am rather I tell you all my accomplishments.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Anything with a beach view is my ultimate favorite place to be. In Pompano Beach, Fl my favorite restaurant is Beach Place, they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They also serve amazing drinks. Bodega located in Fort Lauderdale is one of my favorite taco places to visit, which also have great music. My favorite hang out spot will be downtown Fort Lauderdale, they have a great mixture of bars and restaurants you can dine in. The crowd there I always down for a good time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
God, without him I wouldn’t have a story. He’s provided me with my gift. My grandmother was always the one to encourage me I could do anything I set my mind to. Even though she may not have understood everything I was doing, she was my biggest supporter. My daughter, she looks up to me. She is always excited when she sees my face somewhere. She brags about me and that makes my heart smile. My best friends, they are my accountability partners, they make sure I stay on course. All of My social media followers, they are always pushing me on projects that I am working on. They are also very supportive. The reposts, the likes, and all the reference they send my way.
