Hi Eric, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk is part of all our lives. As humans, we take risks to grow and develop. Even as a society, from energy to infrastructure, airport security, hospitals to housing, effectively managed risks, help us, our communities and our businesses achieve individual goals. Is it possible to live your life without taking risks? In my opinion, risk-taking is essential for growing self-esteem, learning new skills, making new friends, and embracing success and failure. In our fast-paced world, the risks we take, evolve quickly. So, we need to make sure we manage these risks by minimizing their threats and maximizing their potentials. Risk involves understanding, analyzing, and addressing opportunities to make sure we achieve our objectives in life. As an investigator, the use of comprehensive threat and vulnerability assessments is essential to securing organizations as well as our client’s lives. Everything in life has a margin of risk. No outcome will ever be 100 % definite and, therefore, any attempt at anything has a chance of failure. We risk everything, every day, all day without even knowing it. There is always a chance we won’t make it to our next destination, a chance we won’t see our family members again, a possibility that tomorrow will never come. Life is all about risks – you take some, and try to avoid others.
