We had the good fortune of connecting with Ervince Louis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ervince, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I always make sure to have a fall back plan, don’t get me wrong I do believe that I will be successful in my career but I have daughter and other dependents, this pandemic showed me that even with an amazing plan I have to have another source of income. Long story short I learned that taking risks is important in an entrepreneurial lifestyle but to make sure I have a plan in case something unpredictable happens.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Well what I believe sets me apart from other artists is I’m always willing to try new things within my music, I make sure my voice reflects my emotions. I also read a lot, I Love having enough words so I could express everything but in different ways. I’m very vulnerable in my music which I feels opens me up to cause my listeners to open up and really relate. I’m inspired by so many artists but I also try my hardest to not sound like anyone I enjoy listening too. I got to where I am through trial and error, I lived a lot of lives in my time, I feel like I have more experience in life than a lot of people which allows me to articulate differently and see different view points. Also the Marine corps helped me as far as connections and staying focused. I want the world to know 2 things about me. 1. I’m really one of the best MCs you’ve never heard of but you will and 2. I want to inspire, when I pass I want my name to be the epitome of growth and greatness.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well I don’t really go out much if I’m not working I’m working but if we had to go out to eat I would definitely go to Kaluz. Most of my friends are some form of artists so more than likely something in that category like an art gallery, museum, thrift store, and possibly an escape room. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
So Far I’ve been doing pretty well, as an independent artist a lot of things have to be dealt with myself, but thanks to people like Dirty 1000, Scrilla & SlimDaScientist who have kept me motivated I was able to move forward and build.
