We had the good fortune of connecting with Eryn Milian and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eryn, how does your business help the community?
I hope that Anatomy Ink Motion will help to make learning anatomy fun and interactive. There are many people who learn anatomy as part of their professional training, from physicians to yoga instructors, and I hope that my temporary tattoos (of the muscles) help anyone interested to learn.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have my doctorate in physical therapy from UM and loved being a clinician and helping people with orthopedic and sport related injuries, but I decided to return to school and once I finished by PhD started teaching full time. My PhD is in physical therapy with an emphasis on anatomical sciences. I teach all things anatomy, mostly to physical therapists and medical students. I love what I do because it is the basis for so much in the health professions. I am always trying to come up with fun ways to learn anatomy and that’s where the original idea behind Anatomy Ink Motion developed. I started just thinking about the idea and how it would be interesting and then I started to share the idea with friends and family and they thought it was great so then I took it one step further and started to actually develop the artwork for what has become the temporary tattoos of muscles in the human body. I love this business and it’s my passion project because I still work full time teaching in order to support even the idea of this business. That’s the hardest part, is finding the time to dedicate.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
What I love about Miami are the options. My preference is always to be on or close to the water so a boat trip on Biscayne Bay would be a must and then we would check out one of the many restaurants to eat. I love good food and it’s hard to pick just one, but location wise it would probably be coconut grove or wynwood.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family, without their support none of what I have done would be possible.
