We had the good fortune of connecting with Estefany Gomez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Estefany, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Since I was a little girl I knew what I wanted to be. The first time I stand on a stage I was three years old. I never stopped performing after that. I’m from Caracas, Venezuela. I spent the first 18 years of my life there. Trying to figure out how to become an artist I spent my whole life training and performing. I moved to the USA to study Performing Arts and dance and since I graduated I’ve been working in the industry. At some point 4 years ago I had the need to start creating my own content and take control of my own career. My passion is performing but it kind of felt like I had a calling. I wanted to help those people that had the dream of becoming artist but had no idea what to do. I wanted to talk to hispanic kids in Latin countries. I then realized that I wanted to help my younger self. So I created a Youtube Channel talking about my experiences as an actress. Specifically about my experiences as a hispanic girl, in Venezuela with the dream of being an actress, moving to the USA and having a successful live as a performer. Most of the videos are based on my experiences, giving tips about the entertainment industry, encouraging people to train, study and follow their dreams. After that I started creating online acting courses for people who want more profound information. Last week I had my first masterclass in which I had 1000 people connected in zoom and around another thousand on YouTube.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve gone through so many challenges. The obvious ones, leaving my country, family, friends, getting to a new country with a different culture, learning a new language. All the rejection that comes with being and actress. But let’s go back a little.

I was never the best at anything. I have taken a million classes. All dance styles, acting, singing and I was never the best. My parents would tell you the opposite. But I’m honest enough to say this. I was good, but I was never the best. I just knew it wasn’t about talent, there is always someone more talented. I had to persist. I have fallen a MILLION times, I have quit more than I want to say, for a few hours, a day top. Then I get back up and keep going, keep working, keep training, keep auditioning, keep performing. When you do something so much, you get really good at it. But my life really changed when I took charge of my career. I stopped putting my value on being selected by a director. I started creating with my friends from the industry. I started showcasing my talents through my own work. Then everything started to go how it was supposed to go. I haven’t stop performing in years. I changed the way I reacted to not been casted for something. Now I understand that if I do all the work, audition and still don’t get a part, it was just not for me. When I understood that, all the right projects have gotten my way. I’ve performed beautiful characters that I wouldn’t change for anything.

Creating my own business to help other people accomplish their dreams have been I think the most incredible project I’ve work on. It is so fulfilling to see how everything I’ve gone through, and it’s been A LOT, have helped so many people to turn their own lights on. It feels like it’s not even about acting anymore. It feels like all this work helps people speak their truth.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There is so much I love from Miami, and since I’m a nature girl, I would off course take them to the beach. I love Coral Gables, so I would go walk around the area and try some little restaurant around. I also love Coconut Grove to go have Brunch. And If I’m going out at night, I would hop around Wynwood, have some drinks and Dance. I would also take them to a theater. That’s what I always do when I have people visiting. I love supporting my friends when they have plays, so I would definitely go by a theater.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents and brother have been my rock through my whole life. I want to thank them for always supporting me, even when they can’t understand my artistic heart.

I thank my followers and subscribers for trusting me and my experience. I thank them also for being brave enough to following their heart. It takes a lot to say I want to be an actor and then works towards that dream. It is a complex career.

This is going to be the weirdest recognition, but I want to give credit to my soul for being so strong and stubborn. I never know how I’m going to accomplish things, but my soul always finds the way.
