We had the good fortune of connecting with Eunequa Strozier and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Eunequa, looking back, what do you think was the most difficult decision you’ve had to make?
The most difficult decision I had to make was choosing what career to pursue. Originally, I was in college pursuing a bachelor’s in Psychology with plans to go to graduate school to become an Occupational Therapist. It was difficult choosing whether I should stay miserable in a traditional school setting I’d been trying to escape as a child, or whether I should take the risk of following my aspirations of becoming a Makeup-Artist as my full-time career.
What should our readers know about your business?
Originally, my serviced-based business only provided makeup applications. But, as I went to technical school to gain knowledge on Esthetics, I branched out and offered other services other than makeup such as facials, back facials, and even chemical peels. I believe my customer service and my willingness to make sure my clients are always satisfied is what sets me apart as a business and as an Esthetician/Makeup-Artist. I say this because it’s difficult to find service providers who actually care about pleasing their customers and providing them with a good experience (it seems nowadays that service providers are just in it for the money). Perseverance and passion put me in the position I’m in today. There were so many times I had self-doubt and just wanted to give up. It was also very difficult, and still can be difficult, but I overcame my challenges by asking myself “Would you regret giving up if you stopped right now.?” And the answer was always yes. Along the way, I learned that it’s better to be consistent even when you’re not seeing results rather than to quit and start something new repeatedly. I want the world to know that my brand and business strive to provide the best luxurious services to all of my customers.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is a very interesting question since I’m a homebody who rarely goes out. But, if I had to choose a few places for a week-long trip, I would choose Midtown, Wynwood, South Beach, and Aventura Mall. You can never go wrong with these places because they have a lot of restaurants to enjoy. From my perspective, the most interesting place to check out would be in Brickell. Even though it’s very busy on that side of town, there’s a lot you can do over there, especially if you love to shop and eat.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shout-out to my entire family for supporting me on this journey. They have all been very supportive and helpful in encouraging me to keep going, and even teaching me skills that are very important for running a successful business.
