We had the good fortune of connecting with Fabio Kotinda and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Fabio, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
The most important lesson my career as a photographer taught me is to be flexible. Specially in 2020. I was living in Bali, Indonesia and decided to get back to Rio, Brazil to stay with my family. And during the social distance, quarantines I have to rethink about my business and life in general. But been open to opportunities always makes my life easier. And being positive always. You are not happy because you achieved your goals, I achieve my goals because I’m happy.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I photograph for brands and business but lately I’m also taking people to experience my adventures as a travel and adventure photographer. For an example I’m taking people to a Photo Sailing Experience. It is a thing Ive been doing for a long time and changed my life every time I go, Os why not sharing this experience with other people. I’m doing the same with a trekking I experienced in Patagonia 2 years ago. One of the most beautiful place Ive ever been, and the trekking was another life changing experience. So I want to more people can join me and experience those adventures with me.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take him to a Sailing Experience with me, go to the best spots to surf. Would suggest some good vegetarian places, good coffee shops and a everyday workout spot. S
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I recommend the book: Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Harari, Yuval Noah and Principles: Life and Work by Ray Dalio
