We had the good fortune of connecting with Federico Uribe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Federico, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Talent is not something that some people have added to their personality, it is just the lack of fear Taking risk is the standard for a creative artist. I challenge myself permanently on new materials and new way of building

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I transform objects from their original, utilitarian tasks and repurpose them into beautiful artworks using unconventional materials: bullet shells, cut up pieces of color pencils, neckties, books, plastic and garden tools, electric wires, just to name a few. I am highly disciplined man. I wake up and exercise for 1 hour and then work consistently 10 hours a day 6 days a week I believe that working is thinking and not the opposite, that ideas only come during the execution of other ideas

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I don’t do much out of my studio. I think i would take him to Wynwood because I believe that graffiti is the most interesting art that Miami produce I would take to the Perez Art Museum just to see the architecture and the settings Walk on the beach if the weather is hepful and have dinner at home

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Philipe Bardo who had lots of faith in my talent and backed me fully for years
