We had the good fortune of connecting with Flaminia Melchionna and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Flaminia, why did you pursue a creative career?
Art has always been a huge part of my life. Ever since I could remember there was a brush in my hand. There was never a day where I wouldn’t draw or paint. As I got older my style developed and I started to make paintings and prints for my room and then my friends would want in theirs, from there the idea sparked that I should try to sell my pieces.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Art has always been a huge part of my life. As far as I can remember there wasn’t a day where I didn’t paint, draw or sketch something. As I got older my art style developed and I started to make things for my room. As I started to make more pieces my friends would ask me to make some stuff for them and eventually the idea of making pieces of art available for everyone became a reality!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
New York City has so so much to offer.
Growing up in the city you are able to try out so many different spots, I have to say my perfect day defiantly consists of going to a museum (I personally love the MET, the MOMA or the Whitney). I also love walking around the city either Soho or the East Village, they have so many cool stores and food spots you can spend hours just wondering around. If you’re lucky and you’re catching the city in the summer Central Park is your best friend. There’s so many more relaxing spots to explore that are a little off the main road. Food wise, I feel like you cant go wrong with any place in the city. Although, some of my favorites have to be: Boqueria, Olio e Più, Thep, Kesté and Rubys.
Some of my favorite spots I simply found wandering around and stumbling upon.
Walking is your best friend!

My friends and my family for being so supportive through the creation of my business and every day since
