We had the good fortune of connecting with Flavia Fogli and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Flavia, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk is everything. My whole business was mainly started because I took the risk to move to the US, I completely invented this company on my own and I had to work from the ground up to build it. I took the risk to start my own company, and many risks along the road to make it grow, without risk, I wouldn’t be here today doing this interview. It has had a big impact on my life and my career, but, looking, I would do it all over again because seeing my own creation grow over the years brings me a lot of pride and joy. My biggest advice would be, if you have to take a chance to make something big happen in your life take it, it’s going to be worth it once you see the result because if you don’t, you will live your life with regrets and life is worth living without any.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I got to this point because I took many risks and I never said no to a job. I originally started by taking the CAM license to start my business professionally. In the beginning, I started with small jobs and properties then as the business grew I took more different jobs that consisted of remodeling, property management, and concierge. But, it was never easy, I had to work really hard and constantly push myself to never give up, there has been a couple of instances where I had issues with people/companies I worked with, but I always end up finishing the job. Some of the biggest lessons I learned along the way are, to never give up, to always trust in your skills, and to be open-minded. In my business, you never know what’s going to go wrong and you always need to be on top so you can go fix it right away. What I would want people to know about me and my company is that we don’t say no to difficult tasks, and we always work hard to serve our customers, because I believe everyone should enjoy the comfort of their home.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Miami is very rich as a city for its food, culture, and people who live here. There are some places that I would definitely bring them to, like Calle Ocho, Miami Beach, Coral Gables, Wynwood, or Design district. Some of my favorite restaurants are Plantas in Miami Beach, Bombay in Coconut Grove, and Smith and Wollensky in Miami Beach.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a big shoutout to my son Marcello Neve, he has been an inspiration to me, he always pushes me to work hard and he’s the main reason why I have been able to never give up. Thanks to my hard work and company I was able to pay off his college and be debt-free, while also being able to pay for his flight lesson since he dreams to be an airline pilot one day. Without him, I wouldn’t have the same mentality and most of this wouldn’t possible, I always push myself because I want to give him a better life and to be able to see him achieve his own goals. He’s always there to cheer me up and he always supports me no matter what.
