We had the good fortune of connecting with Flor Michel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Flor, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
don’t stick to one way of doing things. i had to learn that this will stomp my growth and won’t allow me to expand in spaces and just in life. so allowing myself to be open to new ways to do doing things, even if it seems scary, has been a game-changer.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I just want to be able to tell a story through my pictures. I want to capture whatever i see in my head and bring that out to life as a forever kind of a thing. So whether that is through people i know or strangers, I want it to be telling to where it would cause someone to stop and just look, think, and feel. This is all i want my brand and my story to be and say.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am so much more of a spontaneous-let’s-just-explore-today type of person! Wynwood for sure, Haitian & Black Owned restaurants/lounges for sure, Vybe After 5, and there is so much more that i can’t even think of at this moment lol! But it would be a dope time as it would be spontaneous.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
shoutout to God for giving me this gift and the passion of storytelling. Shoutout to family and friends who have been on this journey with me, whether it was helping me realize my passion, helping me practice as they became my muse, helping me grow, expand, and etc! There are so many shoutouts for me and i’m grateful for everyone who was a part of helping me become a better photographer..
