We had the good fortune of connecting with Fran Francis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Fran, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
This question here is so deep and many ways. I don’t think we ready to talk about it. How do I know whether to keep going or to give up? Well , I know I have to keep going because who’s going to take care of me , who’s going to give me what I ask for without asking me “why” “what is it for” because when you can’t provide for yourself and someone else is providing for you ; they always wanna know “why you need something” or what’s it’s for” . Just for that alone I can’t give up . Most importantly my kids . Who can give to your kids more than you , the parent . They didn’t ask to be here therefor that’s my reason not to given up .

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Well, I’ve been an entrepreneur for over a decade now. I’m also a mother. I absolutely love being a makeup artist. It’s been a journey that has taught me a lot about life and helped me realize that I can’t work for anyone else. I need to make my own money and set my own hours. It hasn’t been easy, especially since I’ve been pregnant four times. The last three times, I’ve lost clients because I couldn’t work for nine months. So, I’ve always felt like I have to start over, stronger than before. Makeup has come a long way over the years, and I’m proud to be one of the best in my generation.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, I enjoy visiting The Breakers, Pearl of the Island, Berny’s, and Giselle. Honestly, I don’t travel much, so I can’t say much about that category. I’m also quite picky, which is why my partner has such a hard time taking me anywhere. I don’t eat anything.

All my shoutouts go out to my family because they are the reason I am where I am. My man , my mom, my kids
