Meet Gabriel A | Pool Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Gabriel A and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gabriel, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I always enjoyed playing video games growing up, as much of my generation did. When thinking of a business name and a theme for my pool company i wanted to stand out. There is a lot of competition in regards to pool service in south florida but they all have generic names. So when i thought about south florida, the game of grandtheftauto vice city came to mind. The game is based in a fictional miami hence the name vice city. Although the company isnt based in miami its still south florida, and to match the south florida vibe i used the same colors as the miami heat theme, which at the time was in the playoffs and many florida residents where showing their support with the soft blue, pink and black background on their license plates. Giving the company this touch customers feel they are supporting a business that represents where they are from and proud to be in. As a resident of Florida for nearly 20 years i call this place my home with all the good, bad and the ugly. The colors of a flag or a sports team logo has a habit of uniting us all, many residents are from out of state or from other countries. But here we are all residents of south Florida and this company represents that.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Ive learned to work hard and know your worth. Lessons you can only learn by doing it yourself. Also working through the pandemic i learned a lot of people just needed someone to talk to, and a lot of times i would just have conversations with homeowners on politics, business, money, and even personal matters. Sometimes its not just about business but being a human and listening to each other.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I dont go out much, you need to save your money buy you cant go wrong with the beach. Just pick a day and a spot that isnt to busy. But its less about where you go than it is about who you go there with.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Many have helped me along the way, family friends as well as customers and Employers. As much as we think we can earn it all our selves everyone needs support. Rome wasnt built in a day and it wasnt built by 1 man.
