Meet Geraldine Dorema: Busy Mom Coach, CEO, Author

We had the good fortune of connecting with Geraldine Dorema and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Geraldine, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
My balance has changed tremendously! There was a time when I felt overwhelmed, trying to accomplish everything at once. I realized I was burning myself out and not getting things done. Now I have the proper tools to balance everything on my plate without burning myself out, actually being productive, and making time for self care to keep my sanity. 

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the CEO of Real Talks With G, a coaching firm dedicated to busy moms who have lost themselves in motherhood. I help them master life balance, gain clarity on their purpose, and prioritize self care. Building my business has not been an easy road, with countless obstacles. But I was once lost in motherhood so it has been my mission to help as many women as possible overcome their fears and conquer self esteem issues to accomplish their goals. Losing yourself in motherhood is a topic that is often overlooked, the importance is not taken seriously. I will continue my mission to bring awareness to this issue and show mothers that just because you’re a mom doesn’t mean you can’t fulfil your purpose outside of parenting. My coaching practice has also birthed a self care product line “Nourish You”. This line encourages you to treat self care as a priority not a luxury. I got where I am today because of my drive and passion to help and spread the word, unite mothers, and empower.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live about 45 minutes from Miami, which is where all of the fun is. There are so many restaurants to choose from with amazing food and drinks. Fashion district, shopping malls, Wynwood historic art district. You get to live the Miami lifestyle, enjoying the beaches whether you are laying on the beach or riding jet skis. There is always an event or festival going on and you might let lucky enough to run into a celebrity on the strip.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want shout out all the busy moms who are balancing career, life, and crushing motherhood! I see your strength, ambition, and drive. Don’t stop doing what you’re doing and following your dreams.
