We had the good fortune of connecting with Gonzalo Fernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gonzalo, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I was born in a magical place named San Martin de Los Andes, in the south of the world. We have owned several world’s Icons and one of these is the culinary art. And I thought it should be shared with everyone all over the world.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have left behind a country, a business, a career, even family and friends and it wasn’t easy. I had my own lawyer buffete and I had a comfortable life which I decided to leave in order to conquer new markets with a gourmet business with a southern smell. I have a catalog with gourmet products made in Patagonia which every day reminds me where I am from. Our products are made with the best raw material from the heart of Patagonia and it includes smoked local mushrooms, spreads as Mushroom&Malbec, smoked bell peppers & plums, Exquisite jams as Rasperry&champagne and more. Our products are perfect for a family table, for a Restaurant appetizer and for a gourmet gift.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Our company is based on Miami and there are a lot of places to spend a good time, here we can go to beautiful beaches, good pubs and of course I would take them to the argentinian restaurant Buenos Aires Grill for a perfect Argentinian meat, I would have lunch in Graziano’s other inspiring story of Argentinian people here. Sure we would drink the best coffee in Helena’s Coffee . All argentinian people love “Milanesas” and we’d go for the best Milanesa at “Las Acacias Gourmet Argentino”. And of course, in our house we’d have a perfect time with wine and appetizers with our VALLEVERDE products.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Undoubtedly every step I take is accompanied by those of my wife Eliana, who not only trusted and supported this project from the beginning, she has also been a fundamental part of the development of the company, contributing with all her experience leading several companies throughout her life. Her advice is vital. Our daughter Josefina deserves recognition too, she was the inspiration for the name of the company and she’s the great engine not only of this project, but of our lives.
