We had the good fortune of connecting with Grettel Monge and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Grettel, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business stemmed from a strong desire to provide financial stability for myself and my family. I wanted to create an additional source of income that didn’t rely solely on our regular jobs. After having kids, our priorities shifted significantly. We needed a way to ensure we could meet our financial needs without having to take on extra work hours, which would take us away from family time. Moreover, I felt the need to be more present for my daughters. Running my own business allowed me to achieve that balance, offering the flexibility to be an active and involved mother while also contributing to our family’s financial well-being.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career is rooted in public safety, mentoring, and helping others—passions that extend into my business. This business allows me to assist people facing hardships, providing them with financial support and a positive work environment. My background in public safety has strengthened my ability to be a resilient business owner, ensuring that neither my business nor my employees are brought down by external challenges.
Building this business wasn’t easy. Making tough decisions is part of the job, and my experience in public safety has equipped me to handle these situations effectively. After 13 years in the field, I’ve learned to face challenges head-on, which has fueled my determination to grow my business year after year.
Our brand story is straightforward: we aim to provide exceptional cleaning services to create clean, healthy environments for homes and offices. This mission is especially crucial in the wake of the pandemic, as clean spaces are vital for mental health and overall well-being. A clean environment can significantly impact one’s mental health and daily life, emphasizing the importance of our work.
One major lesson I’ve learned is that if you don’t take action yourself, no one else will. If you’re not happy with where you are, start making the necessary changes to move towards your goals. Many people with less knowledge have achieved great success simply because they put in the effort.
Our commitment to excellence, resilience, and support for our clients and employees sets us apart. We strive to be more than just a cleaning company—we aim to improve lives by providing clean, healthy spaces and supporting our community.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting, I’d ensure they experience the best South Florida has to offer. Here’s an itinerary packed with must-see attractions, great food, and exciting activities.
**Day 1-2: South Beach, Miami**
We’d kick off the trip in South Beach, Miami. Known for its vibrant nightlife, beautiful beaches, and Art Deco architecture, South Beach is a must-visit. We’d start with a leisurely stroll along Ocean Drive, stopping at the beach to soak in the sun. For meals, we’d hit up Joe’s Stone Crab for a taste of the famous seafood. We’d also explore Lincoln Road Mall for some shopping and people-watching.
**Day 3-4: Key West**
Next, we’d head down to Key West. We’d take our boat out to explore the nearby sandbars and islands, perfect for scuba diving and observing the vibrant marine life. In Key West, we’d visit Mallory Square for the sunset celebration, dine at Blue Heaven for some delicious Caribbean cuisine, and explore the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum to delve into some local history.
**Day 5-6: Orlando**
Mid-week, we’d drive up to Orlando. No trip to Florida is complete without visiting the world-famous theme parks. We’d spend a day at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, experiencing the magical rides and shows. The next day, we’d hit Universal Studios for its thrilling attractions and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Both parks offer endless fun and excitement, making them essential stops.
**Day 7: Back to Miami**
We’d conclude the trip back in Miami, perhaps with a visit to the Miami Design District for some high-end shopping and art galleries. A final meal at Versailles in Little Havana for some authentic Cuban food would be the perfect end to an unforgettable week.
This itinerary provides a diverse taste of what Florida has to offer, from the lively beaches of Miami to the tranquil waters of Key West, and the magical world of Orlando’s theme parks. It’s a well-rounded experience that any visitor would cherish.
