We had the good fortune of connecting with Geelo Louissaint and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Geelo, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
I was able to break generational curses and protect them from most of the childhood trauma I’ve experienced. My trauma allowed me to become cognizant of how I would raise my children. Being a role model, allowing them to express themselves freely. Encouraging them to know that their thoughts and expressions were valued and important. I steered away from the “children should be seen and not heard” doctrine. There is no true growth and development under such doctrine.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a script writer, I focus more on deep cinema healing, family drama, issues that make us look at ourselves. I create characters that people can relate to. I present it in an entertaining fashion but on the same token you’re being educated. When I’m not writing my own scripts, I am a writer for hire. I’ve written comedies, and a horror that are being filmed this year. Writing allows me to use my imagination, look at life through different lenses, entertain and possibly impact an audience. My journey has not been easy., Its challenging to break into the film industry but I’m grateful for the development of Indie Film market. I’m also thankful for the various streaming services that allow Indie Filmmakers to stream their films on their platforms for exposure. I’m dedicated and passionate about writing/creating captivating stories that everyday people can relate to. My goal is to ignite social change and individual responsibility.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them out to Planta Queen to enjoy Vegan sushi. Followed by the Super Blue Museum interactive experience in Miami. Take a hop on/ hop off sight seeing tour that includes a Star Island tour via speed boat. Get some Asian/Thai food, hang out in Wynwood or Las Olas crafty cocktails and to socialize. Go to Karaoke and amateur comedy clubs for some fun and laughs. Head out to the Hardrock Cafe for a concert or clubbing to dance the night away.

Deedz Productionz is a Film and Production company that I have had the pleasure of working alongside. I can say it is a pleasure working with such a multifaceted, young entrepreneur. He is inspirational, creative, innovative and ambitious.
