We had the good fortune of connecting with Indigo Dreamers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Indigo Dreamers, why did you pursue a creative career?
We both pursued a creative path for the same reason. We simply followed our instinct and imagined a life we wanted to create for ourselves. Whatever career you choose not only defines your daily routine, but in the long term it shapes who you are and frames your values. It helps you to grow if you choose it from your heart and not from the status quo. In this regard, we felt that an artistic career is the way to go!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Indigo Dreamers is the collaboration of two people who find music as a way to communicate the human experience and reflect that back to remind us why we are all here. We began this journey together after graduating from university and we have spent the last 8 years playing venues across South Florida, recording and releasing an album and multiple singles, and creating and collaborating with artists from around the world. Our project started with a singer-songwriter and bass player coming together and trying to fit individual sounds together. Eventually, this evolved into the bass being used more like a synthesizer, which required an out-of-the-box playing technique, and it allowed the vocals to soar over intricate guitar parts that dance to the rhythm of the full bodied bass tones. With some creativity, patience, and trial and error we have adapted to each other to create a unified sound that is today Indigo Dreamers. We are constantly experimenting, trying different things, and learning and that is what makes it so much fun. However, our music journey certainly was’t easy and we never thought it would be easy. There have been and will be challenges to overcome. All the way from dealing with typical freelance business affairs to more sophisticated challenges such as keeping up with creativity and innovation. At the surface level it appears that you just need to practice more and dedicate more time to your art to grow. This is certainly a requirement, but perhaps more importantly you need to let the creative energy flow through you so you can project it to the outside world. In our opinion this is the hardest to thing to be good at. This is purely an internal thing and you can’t learn it from others. You just have to find your own way to channel this energy and we think this is the beauty of the art and music.

Currently we are working on a full band sound for some of our live shows and we are excited to be playing at the SunFest 2022 music festival. We also have a new single coming out Spring 2022 so be on the lookout for some new music!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
While we both are kind of homebodies there are some spots that come to mind if we had company coming to visit. We love nature and South Florida certainly has its own unique beauty. Riverbend park in Jupiter is a great spot for nature walks and an epic kayaking experience. Mounts Botanical Garden in West Palm Beach is another beautiful spot to take in Florida’s diverse plant species. South Florida certainly has breathtaking beaches and we always enjoy time spent on Delray Beach.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our shout out has to go to our fans, the people that come out to our shows, listen to our music, and connect with us online and in person. The engagement and feedback we receive from our fans validates that we are on the right path and keeps us going. Just like a guitar player tunes their guitar, our audience tunes us and keeps us creative and constantly growing. Thank you to everyone who has supported us and our music along the way. It means the world to us!
