We had the good fortune of connecting with Isabella Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Isabella, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My company is an art & recycling studio that utilizes old sports equipment as the canvas. The goal is to teach others how beautiful something can be, if you are willing to give it a little TLC.
If you have a used item, and it looks like its life cycle is over, it actually has just begun; as this is the time to get creative and push boundaries.
The day I heard this quote, was the day I started my company:
“Kintsugi, golden joinery, also known as kintsukuroi, golden repair, is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise.”
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What I want the world to know about my brand story is that it started as therapy, turned into a company along the way, but it will always be therapy to me. The emotion that is evoked while painting and creating something that helps the planet is like no other.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Start the day at the brickell key park, go for a run around the loop. Cuban coffee at Cafecito lincoln road, or matcha at bebito’s.
Hit the One hotel gym, then the rooftop to get some vitamin D.
Lunch at cecconi’s.
Take the brightline to west palm beach just because the brightline is such an experience.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
