We had the good fortune of connecting with Ivana Pejdanolvska and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ivana, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
From a young age i got to see my parents run their own business and i remember i must of been in elementary school i would get so excited to go help my parents at the store after school. My grandparents business was also next to ours so we had the whole family together. My parents used to have a clothing boutique they named after my name “Ivana”. Over the years the business mentality and the passion to one day owning my very own business was always there.
The thought process behind starting my own business was combined of mixed emotions. Lots of sleepless nights, anxiety, fear and all of the above. Fear is always a huge factor because everyone will give you an advice, the good and bad. I had to learn how to power off and do my thing and stay focused. I’ve realized i do better when I don’t speak. I actually didn’t even tell my parents till the very end the day i was signing my lease. Hustle in silence mentality haha.
What should our readers know about your business?
Starting your own business is never easy, especially opening one during a pandemic. Numerous times i had to stop and think “do I really want to proceed”? I can be perfectly fine with my 9-5 job, but that was my comfort speaking. I was already so emotionally and financially invested and my inner voice kept telling me keep going Ivana keep going what it will be it will. . So overnight my house started looking like a storage. I started ordering and ordering all the supplies needed for my business while in the process of looking for a commercial space. After months and months of looking we found a winner in Flagler Village. I walked in the space and knew right away this is the one. I fought any and all obstacles that came in my way. I was like an angry bird. Thank you Native Realty for the amazing support and knowledgeable realtor Dan Ross.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First i would take them to Wood & Wick Co. and start off the day right by making candles! i mean who wouldn’t want to try this fun diy project! Followed by brunch at one of my favorite places Burlock Coast at the Ritz Carlton. I love trying out new places and Fort Lauderdale is full of them right now. I am still dying to try the new restaurant called “The Katherine” in Fort Lauderdale.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Myself i give all the credit to, and my fearless personality. Emotional support goes out to my boyfriend that put up with my moods and supported me every step of the way.
