We had the good fortune of connecting with Luanna “Lulu” Singh and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Luanna, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I believe that the success of my brand comes from how honest I am. I don’t use social media to impress people. I use it to impact people. I’m not afraid to show them my flaws and people can relate to that. Most of my business comes from Moms who feel the same way as I do. Being a parent is a challenge in itself, so a healthy nutrition and exercise plan could be overwhelming for some. I’ve built a results-driven program for people to not only lose the weight, but keep the weight off in just 12 weeks. It doesn’t require hours in the gym or putting yourself on a restrictive unattainable diet. My program teaches them more than just weight loss. It teaches them how to live a longer life. The food you eat can either be the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest poison. That couldn’t be more true! There’s a lot of illnesses and diseases that could be cured just by exercise and nutrition.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Business 101: You don’t build a business. You build people and people build the business!
So many of my clients have seen incredible results….and their results led to more results. During quarantine, I decided to build an “online” business for the very first time. Honestly, I hated the idea and I didn’t even think it would work. One of my biggest fears is public speech and although they were virtual, Zoom meetings were daunting. Since it was a group style class, all of my clients were required to stay on mute in order for the class to hear me. I was basically talking to myself for 45-60 minutes straight, all eyes and ears on me. I had always trained live where I could interact and have a conversation with my client. One year later and I still get nervous for my Zoom classes. When I first started in April of 2020, I had 6 clients and I had texted them personally to tell them about the new class. I didn’t even put it on social media because I didn’t believe in myself. Those 6 clients led to 20 clients which led to 100 clients and now I’ve had over 200 people join my virtual group training class. My virtual clients started getting better and faster results than my in-person clients ever have! I wouldn’t say I overcame my fear of public speech but I’ve definitely progressed.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Top 5: 1. The Wharf – music, dance floor, food trucks, bar, waterfront view… what more could you ask for?
2. Wynwood – anything and everything in Wynwood.
3. Flowstate Studios – home to fitness, yoga, meditation, pottery/art, deep breathing, and animal flow classes.
4. Joe’s Stone Crab or Garcia’s – for the seafood lovers.
5. Planta – for the vegans.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My success is driven by my 5 year old daughter, Mia. I would not be in this profession if it wasn’t for her. I discovered a passion for healing postpartum bodies… a delicate and sensitive time for women who are experiencing both physical and mental changes.
