We had the good fortune of connecting with J.D. Netto and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi J.D., how do you define success?
Success is doing what you love and having the spare time to do even more!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve been a published author since 2012. I learned to draw before I could write. My passion for storytelling started at a young age. I enjoyed drawing my own characters and writing about fictional universes. I won’t say the journey to get here was easy. Nothing about putting your blood, sweat, and tears on paper is. But I can say the journey is worth it. I want the world to remember me as someone who dared. Ah, and I definitely learned that resilience and courage walk hand in hand.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d have breakfast at The Seed in Boca Raton. Then we’d go to Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach. I realize it would be quite the drive, but we’d then spend the night at Riverside in Miami. The food and music are absolutely incredible!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
