We had the good fortune of connecting with J.R. KING and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi J.R., let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I am inspired by seeing people emotions through entertainment. It amazes me that entertainment weather its Sports, Music, Tv, Art or dance and many more can have a strong emotional positive or negative hold on ones emotions. Beyonce inspires me so much ever since a little boy I use to get in trouble from listening to her but I was so inspired at such a young age and still am. She has always been my #1 inspiration her work ethic the way she moves about allowing people into her personal life. and how she keeps drama and negativity away from her.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Being raised in Florida all my life by my Bahamian mother and Jamaican father I was raised between 2 strict households with assistance from my grandmothers. Florida always showed me love at a young age I won 5k on HOT105 by calling at the age of 12 lol ive always been outgoing. Booking my own shows at the age of 13 and setting up my own community tour to showcase my talent on my own. High School I always been Class President the leader mentality has always been inside of me. I decided to move to L.a soon as I graduated the struggle was real hardcore real!!!!! I started making my way up this Florida boy now living in L.A I have to keep representing. I ended up attending Oscars my first year here going to the real show at warner bros studio. started to continue making music. I ended up attending Jay Z new school for 1 year In New York. Attended soultrain awards by bet and grammys and vma’s. I have come along way even got invited to cardi b private party. so much more in my story youll have to follow me to understand now I have my own podcast and just was on a game show on cbs coming out soon.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So whenever im back home in Florida I would love to start some breakfast off at my Grandma house than HOOKS for lunch. And end my night with Finga Lickin. Everytime im in miami I have to go to Club Liv and bayside. South beach is my daily shopping area and area for me to get the beach life. I love Open Mics and The everglades I love alligators. Im a real florida boy lol

God deserves the credit first and foremost. My family has been supportive also my adopted family in L.A Also. A special appreciation to my Brothey Jay’lenn who is currently a soilder in our Navy for the USA! He is the person that keeps me going on a day to day with love support and seperation. also want to thank Miami 99 JAMZ for always believing in me since I was 11 the youngest kid on the radio station calling. They treated me like family.
