We had the good fortune of connecting with Jackie Esther Yesharim and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jackie Esther, how does your business help the community?
While my original intention with Home Over House may have been to share DIY projects and tablescapes, it has blossomed into something much more meaningful. Home Over House is helping redefine our femininity, aiming to inspire and empower women to embrace their roles as homemakers, wives, and mothers in a way that is both modern and traditional. As a Jewish woman, I strive to bring a modern twist to traditional holidays and celebrations. By incorporating new ideas and designs while still honoring our religious traditions, I hope to inspire others to embrace their culture in a fresh and exciting way! A very big part of my religion is giving “tzedakah”, which many people assume just means giving money. However, tzedakah means so much more, it means giving of your time, your resources, and your energy to help those in need. I make sure to always be involved in helping charities and non-profits, because I believe that we have a responsibility to use our gifts and blessings to make the world a better place.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets Home over House apart from others is the dedication and passion I have for sharing my religion and enhancing traditional practices with new ones. I believe in keeping things meaningful and always strive to bring importance to everything I share or do. It’s amazing how sometimes we underestimate our own power and impact on others. I remember being hesitant to share my thoughts and ideas on social media, afraid of what people might think. But as I started to open up and share more of myself, I saw the incredible effects it had on those around me.

I had a conversation with a close friend of mine who always was supportive and telling me to just pursue all these ideas and plans I had and finally one time I just said I really don’t even have a PRODUCT. There’s not a product I am selling! And she really caught me off guard when she said “YOU are the product!” She really gave me this whole new envisionment of Home Over House – it wasn’t just about the things I shared, but it was about the person behind them – me. I became the inspiration that others were looking for, and that was a powerful realization. It showed me that we all have the ability to inspire and uplift others, simply by being true to ourselves.
(So thank you Dvorah Werdiger!)

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
NA- sorry, I really never leave my house! It’s Miami, if you can’t get there by boat, enjoy the hours of traffic!. I am a creature of habit, so my day is like a broken record. Grocery Shopping is as exciting as my day gets!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
If we were to talk about who had the most impact on the success of Home Over House, I would have to give all the credit to my husband, Babba. Without his constant support and encouragement, I don’t think Home Over House would have even gotten off the ground! He has this knack for knowing when to nudge me out of my comfort zone and when to rein me in when my ideas start veering into the realm of the absurd!
