We had the good fortune of connecting with Jade Shenker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jade, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
I don’t think about balance, I think about integration.
Work and life integration allow me the tools to always be moving my business forward while enjoying life. My work, my clients, and my brand energizes me, so when I do find times to “shut off” I also consider that time where I’m recharging myself to perform better.
What should our readers know about what you are doing in the Real Estate industry?
I am disrupting the commercial real estate industry by bringing a global, specialized, and creative marketing approach leveraging media and our company’s reach.
I’ve learned to never take no for an answer, to work relentlessly, and to be your own biggest cheerleader.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Wake up to a meditation
Walk to 96th street clay tennis courts to play with a pro for 2 hours or Equinox Sportsclub and share a bagel on the walk there with an iced coffee
Sauna
Lunch at Westville
Head down to Soho and check out shopping at 260 Sample Sale
Quick pit stop at the Serhant Office
Happy Hour and a Burger at Soho House or Zero Bond
Pick up some late night food, and late night karaoke at my house
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Ryan Serhant, my boss, mentor, and friend, who’s always empowered me to be great. For the early text messages, for hyping me up, for helping me set goals higher and knowing that I will become that person. For setting an example on how to be a literal superhero.
My dad, Marc Shenker for teaching me that there’s always a way to get a deal done, and to push boundaries and look fashionable doing it.
My mom, Catherine Fingal who’s always supported me and showed me compassion and care for others.
My cousin Harley who showed me despite our hardships, we come from a powerful female family and we will always succeed.
My ex-husband, Matt Denham who (despite everything that happened), was someone who taught me so much.
My 4th grade math teacher who was the first person to let me figure out wild ways to solve a problem despite it being outside of the lesson / norm.
World of Wonder for telling my story and believing in me. Thank you Randy, Fenton, Bre, Kelly, Bianca, Monique, and every single producer, editor, AV person, THANK YOU ALL
