We had the good fortune of connecting with Jairo Lanzas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jairo, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I had previously worked 13 years- at Bahamas upholstery. Previous to that I worked 3 years has a chauffeur, and lastly as the manager of an upholstery shop.

My brother had bought his business, the miami broward location from a man named Herman Hernandez who named it Bahamas in 1973, he named it that way because it reminded him of his home in Cuba. So this business has passed through a lot of hands and it’s been a long time coming.

But I had always been involved in the business process with my brother. I found a passion in it and I found success in it as well. This company has a lot of years and it can even be considered a franchised. I started Bahamas Auto Interior Broward about 3 years ago and we have been growing bigger and bigger ever since.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart, I think is that I am passionate and very demanding of myself and of my staff. I like to be innovative in my profession.

We are a company that does absolutely everything in our business. We cover all of our bases. We do custom car seats, headliners, starlights, carpeting, convertible top replacements, arm rest, dash boards, gear shifters and custom doors, even car handles. We come prepared to completely make a clients vision come true.

I got where I am today by being absolutely dedicated to my future and the future of my family. I wanted to make something special that will leave a legacy of professionalism and creative excellence for my children.

Everyone faces challenges, I think that also sets people apart, how people react in the face of adversity says a lot about the contents of their character.

I’d like the world to know how much effort I put into suppling the best services into my business.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If a friend came to town, downtown miami is great, 8th St is always a great safe bet. If you would like to come to broward you cannot leave without going to las Olas and also downtown broward or even Hollywood. There are plenty of small restaurants that are absolutely worth the visit. A lot of really great Nicaraguan Restaurants too, try Selva Negra in miami and also great Peruvian restaurants. There is a little bit of everything in South Florida. I am a family man, so anything where I can spend time with my family I enjoy!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would definitely like to dedicate a shout out to the originator of the business, Don Herman. He was the original founder and he Taught my brother William Lanzas and I a lot of business. And what it takes to be a leader. He really mentored us and taught us a new love and attention to detail in our craft.

Because of what he taught us, I can certify that both William and I have reached a certain level of success and professionalism that we owe to his teachings.
