We had the good fortune of connecting with James Rice-Peña and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi James, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The idea of starting FL Cleanup came from a deeply personal place. Having witnessed the emotional and physical toll that water, mold, and fire damage can have on families and businesses, I felt compelled to make a difference. I envisioned a company that not only restored properties but also offered reassurance and support to those affected by such disasters.
In establishing FL Cleanup, I aimed to set a higher standard in the restoration industry. Many companies offer restoration services, but I saw an opportunity to deliver a more personalized, customer-centric approach. By utilizing the latest technology and methods, we could ensure efficient and thorough restoration processes. More importantly, by fostering a team that values compassion and professionalism, I knew we could help our clients navigate through some of their most challenging times with confidence and peace of mind. This blend of expertise and heartfelt service continues to drive FL Cleanup’s mission and success.
What should our readers know about your business?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely, I’d love to give a shoutout. First and foremost, I want to recognize my wife, who has been the backbone of FL Cleanup. Her unwavering support, love, and encouragement have been instrumental in both our personal lives and the success of our business. She stands by me through the ups and downs, providing the stability and motivation I need to keep pushing forward.
Additionally, I’d like to acknowledge our dedicated team, whose hard work and commitment ensure we provide top-notch service to our clients. Our success is also thanks to the mentorship from industry leaders who have generously shared their knowledge, and to the loyal customers who trust us with their restoration needs. Lastly, books like “The E-Myth Revisited” by Michael E. Gerber have provided invaluable insights into running and scaling a business effectively.
But truly, it all circles back to my wife. Her strength and support make everything else possible. She’s the heart of our story and the cornerstone of our success.
