We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamie Howard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jamie, how do you define success?
For me, success is really about fulfillment… the feeling that I am right where I’m supposed to be doing what lights my soul on fire. For a large part of my life, success was tied to my income or the amount of professional accolades I received or even the amount of time that I was spending on a project or job. I quickly realized that all three of those definitions involved me pushing and forcing myself to “produce”. That probably made a lot of other people feel great, but all it was doing for me was draining every ounce of energy and joy that I had. Now, when I assess whether or not I am successful, I ask myself a simple question: “Do my heart, mind, and body feel nourished?” If the answer is “Yes!”, then I know I’m in the right place at the right time achieving great success!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Wild Souls healing is all about creating a space for people to feel safe and supported while they navigate the process of shedding layers of trauma, interrupting harmful generational patterns, and freeing themselves from societal expectations. As a body wisdom teacher and coach, I am not afraid to gently push and lovingly challenge my clients when it’s appropriate while also reminding them of how incredibly powerful they are. I teach my clients how to connect with their embodied intuition in order to create a life that reflects their true desire and passion. Since the inception of this business in 2016, I’ve learned that what most people want more than anything is to feel valuable, purposeful, and capable. So, that’s what we do through one-on-one coaching, small group workshops, and our life-changing 4-day all-inclusive Retreats. We’re guiding people back to a sense of sovereignty… one Wild Soul at a time!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m in a very rural area of Northeast Florida, so I would love the opportunity to show off the beauty and charm of our small town! We’d start with brunch and craft cocktails at The Magnolia Cafe, then go for a stunning hike through the Ravine Gardens State Park. The County Line farmer’s market would be the next stop to peruse some of the stunning local produce and honey (the brussel sprouts and romanesco are my favorites) followed by a massage and facial at Atmosphere Boutique Day Spa. It’ll then be time for dinner at La Hacienda for the BEST authentic Mexican food I’ve ever had and then we’ll walk down to Riverside Park amphitheater to catch some live music with the stunning St Johns River as its backdrop. After, we’ll stop into Lifted Spirits Craft Beer & Mead Lounge to stock up on libations that you can’t find anywhere else and head back to my house where a group of our friends and their instruments will be ready for a fire-side jam session! It’s a country town, after all… it’s not a complete visit without a bonfire. 😉

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
All of the women in my life who have been in positions of leadership personally and professionally. They’ve shown me what it looks like when power is fueled by compassion and the desire to connect with people.
