We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamirah Gregory and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jamirah, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process I had behind starting my business was to uplift women and men alike. Although, my business mainly caters to a female audience, I have had male customers as well. I wanted to create pieces that stood for something when worn. I want the individual wearing my piece to feel a special connection with the jewelry. Ie: this bracelet makes me feel beautiful or this necklace brings me positivity.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Outside of my jewelry business I run a blog uplifting young women. Helping people achieve a better reality and a keen sense of happiness is what I live for. I write to help people overcome but to also inspire them and ultimately just put a smile on my readers face.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite place to go in Philadelphia is Cira Green. It’s a roof too garden that’s not as unknown as it used to be when I would frequent it. It’s still a gem to this city. I try to tell anyone here to make it a place they visit before they leave. It’s so calming and you have an entire view of the downtown area from up high. It’s one of those places you go to just breath and take life in.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout goes to my daughter. She’s been my reason behind why I have set to achieve the moon and stars. She motivates me without even knowing and I wouldn’t be here without her.
