We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason & Annmarie Valdez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jason & Annmarie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Our own business was always an idea happening in the background. We met working in a restaurant and each brought a lot of varied experience and a love for what is a very challenging business. Above all, we shared a common focus on service, hospitality and hard work. Eventually, circumstances provided us an opportunity to take a breather – which is very rare in this business – and a moment to evaluate where we were and where we wanted to go. We were fortunate to have a good understanding of the business model, and we capitalized on that knowledge, and our balanced strengths in front & back of house roles. It was a quick, easy decision to go out on our own.

What should our readers know about your business?
We are a catering company & mobile kitchen specializing in onsite preparation and service. Our menu changes based on occasion, season, and available product.

Our chef is skilled in a variety of cooking styles and so we are fortunate to be able to prepare nearly unlimited offerings. Mostly, we love to share delicious food and always prioritize guest satisfaction.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Howley’s, for brunch, the diner-style menu + cocktails, people watching & artwork.

Hullabaloo for happy hour or dinner, the open kitchen, craft cocktails, and great menu.

Mathews Brewing Co. for craft beers, rotating food vendors, live music, and huge beer garden.

El Camino for happy hour specials, tasty tacos, margaritas and draft beers.

LauderAle for fun vibes, cool staff and guests, and tasty brews.

Walking around Atlantic Ave in Delray & Las Olas – always a good time.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
