We had the good fortune of connecting with Jay Hollis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jay, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
One of the main misconceptions of fast fashion is that with new drops pieces will sell out fast. Truth be told that’s not always the case. Even if you have a fire project/ product it might not pick up traction for a few months to a year. And you have to be able to withstand the storm.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Well for starters I’m a fashion designer can’t really sew nor sketch but I’ve managed to find ways to bring my ideas to life. I’ve always prided London Logan on being a place where masc. induvial can get dressed whether day or night. Need a casual outfit? we got that, jeans or a button-down for the nightlife? Yup those too. Arriving at this point was not easy. There’s no real blueprint to follow in fashion. However, for some reason, I like to have an action plan. Even if it doesn’t go completely as planned, I need a reference. There were clothing malfunctions, sizing errors, shipping delays, scamming manufacturers and the list goes on. Although, each blow always felt like something I never bounce back from there was a little voice in my head saying “you got this.”

I want people to know you can always expect timeless pieces designed with black masculine presenting women and trans men in mind.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a relaxed person all the time but I do love good food. I actually dance when the food is really good. If a friend of mine were down to visit they can expect to hit the Delray Beach or Lake Worth’s pier for a sunrise or sunset depending on the person. Tacos aren’t exclusive to Tuesday but we’d hit up Tacos Al Carbon. Axe throwing on a Wednesday or bowling. Followed by a bite to eat at the new OVO Lounge . If my friends aren’t looking for an activity I live near Northwood in West Palm which is like a hidden gem with great food and vibes. There’s the Grilled Cheese Gallery , Majestic Ash Lounge & Southern Spice if we want to kick back eat soul food and smoke an occasional cigar. Or if there looking for a vibe we can head up the street to the new Legacy Lounge with drinks and good food also. There’s also this Korean BBQ and Sushi place I want to try so if they aren’t too full we’d have to hit all of them. My love for food keeps me in the gym 6 days a week lol.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes, my loving girlfriend SJ. For being super supportive throughout the entire time.
