We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennie Schottmiller and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennie, what do you attribute your success to?
That I want to help people. As a business and accounting coach, there are many small business owners that just need someone to offer help, and be actually helpful. This means charging a fair rate and offering useful information and support. It’s really simple but not something small business owners encounter often enough.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am dual licensed as a CPA and Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. I am very proud to be helping small business owners gain the confidence they need to manage the business side of their business, the accounting, cash management and financial matters that can sometimes leave business owners feeling lost and overwhelmed. I got to where I am by two main factors 1) being thoughtful of where I can excel related to my own skills and abilities and 2) listening to what others need and then finding where these two factors overlap. The main lesson I have learned is how important it is to put yourself out there. What I want small business owners to know is that if you can run a business and bring in revenue, you can absolutely master the tax and accounting tasks associated with your small business.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my favorite spots in my area is walking around Newtown Borough in Bucks County, PA.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
All the therapists and counselors out there working so hard to help people improve their mental health and relationships.
