We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica DeSiato and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Hands down, persistence. I built my brand and client list by consistently posting and interacting with followers on Instagram, networking (I always have business cards on me), and always asking for happy customers to refer me to friends and family. I never thought of myself as someone who could sell and network, In fact I was quite scared of the thought at first, but I pushed through it and have found my stride.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I named my business Thoughtfully Organized because it truly connects with what I do. I’m not here to just put labels on bins, I want to understand how you use a space and how we can make it as functional and easy to maintain as possible. As someone with a background in mental health therapy, I understand how a clear space can help you and your family be their best. I never imagined starting and running my own business, but after a few years of being a stay-at-home mom I realized that I was looking for a flexible way to begin getting back into the workforce. I started an Instagram account and posted some pictures of my home, this began getting a following and one day at an event I was telling someone about my account and they asked “do you organize offices?” and I said “all the time!”. I had never organized a space other than in my own home, but I took a leap and found an incredibly fulfilling career!

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
As a Miami native, I love this question! Shopping: Merrick Park in Coral Gables – breezy outdoor shopping with great brands and places to sit and people watch. Visit: Frost Science Museum in Downtown Miami- unique multi-story museum with an incredible aquarium at its core…you have to see the giant oculus window into the main tank, its beautiful! Lincoln Rd Mall in Miami Beach – eating, shopping, people watching on a long pedestrian-only street in the heart of Miami Beach. Eat: AC Icees – David T Kennedy Park in Coconut Grove – the original Miami food truck. Ask for the half cherry half lemonade icee and take a stroll in this park by the bay.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am a member of a group of Miami businesswomen called “Les Femmes Confident”. It is a monthly professional mentoring group that pushes women to move their careers and businesses forward. The support, mentorship, and energy that this incredible bunch has given me has been instrumental to my success. The group has inspired me to grow and kept me accountable to my goals and I have loved helping other women do the same.
