We had the good fortune of connecting with Jhonatan Osorio and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jhonatan, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My journey began in a management role within the healthcare industry, where I was driven to excel and reach the top. By 2016, I realized that my ambitions extended beyond the conventional career path, and that’s when I started envisioning the possibility of owning my own business.

The creative spark came from my self-taught exploration of photography, which grew from a personal hobby into a professional passion. This initial interest in photography eventually expanded to now include film and production.

Starting my own media company allowed me to merge my management experience with my creative pursuits. My goal was to build a brand that reflects my artistic vision and provides high-quality media services. This venture has been a fulfilling way to blend my professional goals with my passion for creative expression.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art focuses on capturing subtle moments that often go unnoticed. It feels as though time slows down when I’m preparing to take a shot, allowing me to seize those unique opportunities. I aim to create authentic moments that uncover deeper stories, which has taught me the value of patience and perseverance. Reaching where I am today required navigating through financial and mental challenges, but I remained committed to my vision from six years ago. Overcoming these obstacles has reinforced my belief in the power of self-belief. My work is more than just images; it’s a manifestation of my dedication to storytelling. This isn’t just a profession, it’s a calling and a way of life that I cherish every second.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Here’s how I’d plan the week if my best friends were visiting the area.

For lunch, we’d start at Uptown 66 for a relaxed introduction to the local scene. We’d also hit Causa for some Peruvian flavors and Beakers & Gray for a more upscale experience. For a special dinner, Jaya at The Setai would be a must. If we’re craving Indian cuisine, Bombay Darbar would be the go-to. Finally, for a change from Cuban cuisine, Pinolandia offers a taste of Central American.

For beaches, Sunny Isles Beach is perfect for a sunny day, while Peanut Island Beach offers a quieter escape with a Bahamian vibe, though it requires a ferry or a boat to reach. South Pointe would be a great spot to enjoy beautiful views and a lively atmosphere.

When it comes to hanging out, we’d definitely check out 1800 Lucky for drinks and socializing, and spend a night at Club El3ven for an exciting nightlife experience.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to a few incredible people who have been instrumental in my journey: Drea Carolina, Charlie Machado, and Juan Medina. We started this journey together 6 years ago, and their support and friendship have been have been crucial as we each built our own businesses. Our shared experiences, encouragement and collaboration have been a cornerstone of our success.

I also want to give a shoutout to HGAB Studios for playing a key role in bringing the creator community together over the years. Their dedication has been essential in fostering a vibrant network that supports collaborations and growth among creatives.
