Meet Jonathan Ramirez | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jonathan Ramirez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jonathan, what do you attribute your success to?
To succeed, you must work hard, have a clear vision, and be passionate about your work. Having perseverance and staying discipline will help you achieve your goals, as well as surrounding yourself with people you can trust.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a self-taught artist living in Miami, Florida. I specialize in creating portrait realism using acrylic paint. To express my ideas, I utilize a variety of media, including digital designs and photography. I have painted for celebrities such as Jorge Soler of the Miami Marlins baseball team, Juelz Santana, Kim Kardashian, Nicky Jam, Feid, Gary Vee, Danabrooke and Uly The Monster. While art has always been a passion of mine since I was a child, I stopped making art once I graduated high school in 2012. In 2014 I discovered people creating incredible art on Instagram, which inspired me to begin creating again. At first, it was challenging as I was trying to teach myself various techniques and styles. In many instances, I became frustrated when my work did not appear as anticipated. It did not discourage me, however; I continued. After gaining more confidence in my artistic abilities, I began displaying my art on social media, which gained recognition as an artist. One of the most important lessons I have learned is to continue working hard and pushing yourself toward your goals. Life will always present challenges, but overcoming them is the most important thing! It is my goal to share my art with the world in hopes that it inspires others to dream big and pursue their passions.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
It would be a great idea to take them to Virginia Key because it has mountain bike trails, kayaking on the beach, and a Bar nearby for drinks. Another great place would be Hallandale Beach Skatepark where you can skateboard, bike, and enjoy the beach.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Having a great team and crew on my side is essential to my success. Without their support, I would not be where I am today. I would like to thank Azucena, Jamileth, Jayden, 2nyce, Vantablack tattoo, Hangout Creations, and itsown for their support. I am certain that I would not be where I am today without them.
