Meet Jose Rivera | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with photographer Jose Rivera, co-founder of OA LIVING, and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jose, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
Giving up is never an option. Perseverance is an important part of the success equation.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve had a camera in my hands ever since I can remember. However, in 2016 I decided to take a leap of faith and take photography more seriously. My only hope is that my photographs bring a sense of peace, joy and harmony to the world. I don’t consider myself a professional photographer, simply a person with a camera on a mission who loves taking pictures. The most important lessons are the power of positive thinking and perseverance. Nothing that’s worth anything in life is usually easy.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The Keys, Everglades National Park, Big Cypress National Preserve and the many other Dade County Parks, Florida State Parks and National Parks located in South Florida. There’s so many places to visit and so many things to do you probably would need a year to do it all.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My partner Johanna Meneses. The person responsible for all of the behind the scenes work necessary to bring OA Living into fruition and whom without none of this would be possible.
