Meet Mariana Bianchini | music, singer, composer, mother of two

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mariana Bianchini and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mariana, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
singing makes me happy, because when i sing, i feel free.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have been singing since I was a little girl, but at 20 I formed a band with which I recorded many albums, a rock band clled PANZA.
Being in a rock band in a sexist country is not easy. I learned a lot along the way, we kept playing and defending our art despite not being a popular band, we achieved prestige and became a cult band.
Today, more than 20 years later, I have my solo albums and I enjoy being a reference for many young rock bands on the one hand and on the other I am happy to be able to continue doing what I like.
It wasn’t easy, it’s not easy now either, because when I was young I tried to find my place in the music, but now I have to stay active, for me the most important thing is desire, the love of music, and always asking yourself why you are doing it.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would start by going to buy churros for breakfast with mate, then we can go visit Caminito, the tango neighborhood, spend the afternoon in the Recoleta gardens and go to dinner at an inn in the center of Buenos Aires, empanadas, some barbecue. We can have a meeting at home with a barbecue and friends.
I don’t like going to places where there are a lot of people, we could go listen to jazz in Palermo
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Well, in my musical career there were people who helped me directly or indirectly. My mother is not a musician but I remember her singing with great passion while cleaning the house. Then my father played bass but he left music when his children were born. so they were a big influence to love music a sing, but when I grew up and took my career seriously, the person who supported and helped me the most was my partner and musical partner. Sergio Alvarez.
He insisted that I record my music.
