Meet Juan Manuel Torres Rodriguez | Production Manager

We had the good fortune of connecting with Juan Manuel Torres Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Juan Manuel, how do you think about risk?
We think risk is actually what has brought us to where we are with our project, if we had not taken the risk of investment in a different country with a lot a competition and adversities to confront, we probably have not moved from Venezuela, and we would be living in a comfort zone without having the opportunity to accomplished our dream of becoming Tripping Animals Brewing, one of the best breweries in Florida and USA. Risk is what makes you advance and keep on trying to be better every single time, could be scary and you are not always ready, but that is the thing, if you wait to be ready you will never move to something outside your comfort zone.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Our background in matter of careers or what we studied, is all different:

Iker – Economy
Daniel – Business Administration
Ignacio – Marketing
Juan – Communications

So that being said is one of our strengths, manage to blend together all of our different skills, assemble the idea, execute it and keep on working every day to make our company stronger and better each year.

For sure it wasn’t easy to be where we are at this point, a lot of struggle back in Venezuela with political situation, but we manage to star our dream back there and then scale it and take the risk to bring it here to the United States.

We basically overcome the challenges by putting effort, patience, support with each other, support of our families, we received a lot of support of another breweries so that was a lot for us. But for sure it was mostly team work every single day, before we open and of course after that our most important value.

Lessons.
We only fall to get up and o it better, mistakes happens, you just need to review it and do it better next time.
Believe in you, in your capacities, in your team, and knowing what are you pursuing as a goal.
Listen and try lo learn of others, communication has to be an essential part of the team.

We want to be recognized not only as a great brewery in matter of our products that is great beer, but also about our culture inside our company, what we bring to our community, about our hospitality in every single thing we host here at Tripping, to be known around the world. And for sure our story behind this dream and how we start to build all of this.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Even though Doral is recognized by the amount of companies and logistic warehouses in the area, the city also has a great outdoor spaces and nightlife. From having a world class golf course located in The Trump hotel, to different parks across the city where you can have a nice walk.

Some of the spots I would recommend to go are: Shoma Bazaar (Food Hall/Bar), MIA Brewery, Doral Yard (Food Hall/Bar), City Place (Open Mall), Downtown Doral (Area of restaurants and parks), Top Golf, Dolphin Mall, Bandidos Taqueria, Improv (Comedy Theater), Doral Contemporary Museum, and many other great options in the city.

Besides what we can find in our backyard, Miami has a lot to offer within not too much of a distance.

Wynwood , where you can visit “Wynwood Walls”, and also Gramp’s to get som good pizza , beer and special cocktails.

Calle 8, great beer and food. Also visit Ball and Chain to experience nice music experience and party.

Visiting the beach, either by renting a small boat or just visiting Miami Beach where you can also eat something nice after.

We think that coulb be a great experience for a week here in the City, and of course visiting Tripping Animals Brewing to live our experience.
