We had the good fortune of connecting with Juan Morón and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Juan, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I think risk is perceived and measured based on how much it pushes you out of your comfort zone. In my life and career, taking risks has become essential. I believe we should always take risks, no matter how small, because that’s how we lose our fear of them. If it weren’t for the risks I took this year, I wouldn’t be where I am now.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others is my focus on deeply understanding the message my client wants to convey. My goal is to reflect that essence in the video, bringing their personality to life. Each project excites me because I know it’s unique, and I put my heart into making it special.
My journey so far has been shaped by consistency and the active pursuit of opportunities. One of the things that has helped me progress is collaborating with people I admire, taking the initiative in those projects. Through these collaborations, I’ve been able to generate ideas that reached others, initially with the sole purpose of building my portfolio, and those same people have referred me to new clients. Ultimately, the most important thing is showcasing your work.
I know that beginnings are tough, but I’ve learned that perseverance and the ability to constantly reinvent yourself are key. Over time, this mindset creates the momentum needed to overcome difficult moments.
A fundamental lesson I’ve learned along my journey is that organization is the foundation of everything, both in professional and personal life. Without a solid structure, projects lack direction and potential.
I want the world to understand that the attitude with which you face life defines not only the opportunities you see but also the quality of your relationships and your inner well-being. There was a time in my life when I lost everything: I found myself displaced in a country that wasn’t mine, facing daily discrimination because of my nationality. However, it was my positive attitude toward adversity that allowed opportunities to start coming my way.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
It’s a bit challenging for me to create a detailed itinerary, but there are definitely certain places I would take my best friend to ensure they have an amazing time. We’d start with a visit to Oleta Park for kayaking and enjoying nature. I’d also include a salsa night at “El Patio” in Wynwood, which always has an incredible vibe. For something more relaxed, we could do a wine tasting at RUKA, and for a fun night out, partying at “La Otra” is a must.
When it comes to food, I’d plan a route to try a different spot each day because Miami has an amazing food scene. For instance, we could have burgers at “La Birra Bar,” delicious hot dogs at “Zampale Miami,” empanadas at “Parguito Gourmet,” and to balance it out, some healthy bowls at “Pura Vida.”
I think these spots offer the perfect mix of fun, great food, and the essence of Miami.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
A person who has been instrumental in my career and has taught and guided me is César Román. Whenever I find myself in a dead end, I always turn to him for advice on what to do. He is an actor, director, screenwriter, and musician, as well as a teacher at Miami Media School. Beyond the professional aspect, he has also been a kind of spiritual guide for me, always offering support and guidance when I need it the most.
