We had the good fortune of connecting with Juliana Pires and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Juliana, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to do something fun that I enjoyed and blend my Brazilian side with my USA side while working with my family & friends. My grandma & mother taught a lot about our tradition and culture and I wanted to bring that into my workplace. Since I grew up going to parties & weddings with my grandmother I remembered how much fun we would have, I decided I wanted to live in that moment as much as I could.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
All our decorations are hand made and/or hand assembled. We add Brazilian decorations with USA decorations together to each event or party. Just like our blended family. We get our creativity from my grandmother on my mother’s side, she introduced me to the party world and I fell in love. My grandma was part if a big church and new a lot of people so she was invited to anyone’s milestone. The first wedding she took me too, she handed me a glass of champagne and I felt like a princess. Coming from a very strict Christian home, my grandma always let me listen to music in her car on the way to and from parties. She taught me what it is to be free! I enjoyed that time with her so much that I would beg her to pick me up early so we could help set up and start sooner! So because of her the party life was always my escape to be liberated from what people expected out of me. It was like taking a break or a vacation. Then I realized I could be the party and create parties for others and work for myself and always be free! Thank you Dona Luzia!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Anyone of my friends that comes to visit from out of town knows I’m in charge of their itinerary. South Florida is a great place for tourists, so I make sure they get a taste of the tri-counties. We start in Palm Beach County, the Japanese Gardens is amazing. Who doesn’t like nature?! We sip Boba teas while strolling through the gardens. Great place for a photoshoot. To start the weekend right The Warf in Las Olas, Broward County has great food trucks and bars with a wonderful evening ambiance. Thrive by Daniel Popper is a live sculpture (on the same street as the Warf) you can take nice pictures in and for one second you will think you are in Tulum, Mexico. You cannot forget about our newly renovated Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino open 24hrs! There’s so much to do there, might aswell get a room in the guitar! Sunday brunch has to be at Dukunoo Jamaican Kitchen in Dade county! OMG please order the cantaloupe drink! Again their live music and ambiance makes me believe I’m at the island with all my friends. Everyone is friendly and service is fun and entertaining. I think it’s safe to say we @kajushowersllc knows where the parties are at! DM us if ur in town!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank my cousin Karla Oliveira for starting the business with me and for believing in the potential we have. She & her husband now have their own business in which we can collaborate on any party or event! She is truly a great friend and cousin and I could not have come this far without her. I’m so proud of my family.
