We had the good fortune of connecting with Julie Tarazona and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Julie, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Without a shadow of a doubt, there are people with astonishing skills in coaching, maybe even more prepared than others. What sets apart a successful person from a “regular”, is indomitable will. I have an extraordinary mindset, and indomitable will. You choose your mindset every single day. Situations arise, people upset you, and uncertainty appears. It is your indomitable will, that will cause a non-negotiable success mindset. It’s win or win. There are no other options. Options are for the regulars, not for the fearless. We all feel tired, unmotivated, cranky, unsure, intimidated, tempted, confused, agitated, annoyed, etc… However, when you practice correct mindset, you choose to change your physical and mental state by deciding to deal with it, instead of resisting it. Accept it, and Fierce forward. Gratitude has also helped me succeed, because even when I would prepare speaking engagements no one showed up for, I kept doing them, I kept trying, I did it one more time. It’s also called Resilience. Bounce-back ability. No matter what you name it, its’ the DECISION to keep going while you are GROWING.
What should our readers know about your business?
My coaching business grew from my passion to help people. We all need a little sounding board sometimes to make decisions. When faced with challenges, many people stay as they are, because they are petrified of what awaits on the other side. Parenting coaching came about because of my Master’s in Special Education and love for kids. I saw many parents struggling, and this takes a toll on their relationship as well. Business coaching came about because when I retired as a teacher, I joined two different multi-level marketing companies, achieving leadership positions in both rather quickly. I had a passion for helping people achieve the same or even better results, and I realized, I had learned through training and personal development, a thing or two about marketing, business strategy and organization. Relationship coaching is one of my favorites because I work with families, couples, who have gotten to a dead end. The outcome always depends on the client. I got certified as a LIFE coach so I could make it a profession and share my skills through motivational speaking, private sessions, group calls/sessions, conferences, etc… It was not easy because as a coach, you do not sell a product, you sell yourself. You sell your story. I want the world to know that each human being can FIERCE IT at any given moment of decision.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I wanted to show friends around I would give them a tour of beautiful Miami and a taste of all cultures. I would start by taking them down Calle 8 so they could see the Cuban influence in our city as we drive down towards Brickell. We would stop at Riverside and have a couple of drinks and food truck “tapas” and would take them to Downtown. Downtown Miami, home of the Freedom tower, American Airlines Arena, Bayside & Biscayne Boulevard. We would visit Key Biscayne, Viscaya, and go dancing in Mango’s on SOBE. Not because it’s the hottest place in town, but because you have to see “la locura” (the craziness) of Miami. I would have them taste all kinds of foods from all different countries and visit Midtown. Take some pics in Wynwood Walls, and go bar hopping at night. Coral Gables and its beautiful trees down Coral Way would also be a sight to see along with the Biltmore Hotel & Pool, Venetian Pool and The Church of the Little Flower. Speaking about churches, must sees are St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Miami Beach and La Ermita. A place of prayer and reflection by the ocean. Next to La Salle High School, where I made amazing friends. We should lounge on the beach by this time, after this exhausting yet fun tour for a while, and finish by visiting Hard Rock Casino & An airboat ride down the Everglades. Crocodiles anyone?
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people who believe in me. I will begin by thanking my parents. Their indomitable will was what taught me resilience. They were an amazing example of tough love with rules and a belief that we could achieve whatever our heart desired (My sister & I). I thank my sister because throughout my life I only wanted to be an example of poise, intelligence and resilience so she could have a good role model. In times of difficult decisions, she encouraged me to make the hard decisions, in order to achieve inner peace and happiness. My grandmother in heaven for her unwavering love for me. My kids for being the fuel that keeps me going, and my best friend Suly which is my sounding board and confidant. Last but not least, my boyfriend. He admires me, respects me, and allows me to create. God is the pilot of my dreams and I choose the destination each time. Grateful for my health and waking up each day with a passion for helping people thrive!
