Meet Justin Bruns | Film Maker & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Justin Bruns and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Justin, what do you attribute your success to?
Having a ‘good eye’ is a key reason why I’ve been successful. What does this mean? Essentially, it’s about seeing potential and positivity in everything around me, which is crucial for achieving success. This ability helps me make smart choices. I’m not just talking about picking out what looks nice; it’s more about making decisions quickly, changing things when needed, and being creative on the spot. I trust my judgment a lot.
I didn’t learn this skill from just one experience; it’s part of who I am. I see the world in a structured way, like there’s a logic to how everything works. It’s not about mystical shapes or anything, but more like the logical rules of physics. Everything has a pattern or structure, and I use this understanding in everything I do, from big business decisions to taking a photograph. It’s almost like a guide for me, even when I’m not thinking about it.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Wavelength is a company that offers creative services and management solutions to businesses and individuals. Our primary focus is on creating high-quality content, such as photos and videos. The company was founded 8 years ago by myself, a photographer and Filmmaker, and Joacim Borg, a musician and sound engineer. We quickly realized that simply providing a finished photo or video product to our clients was not enough to help them achieve their goals. Distribution and marketing play a crucial role in the success of any content production, and that’s where our expansion began. As technologists, we loved the idea of taking on these responsibilities for our clients, and it proved to be a pivotal decision in our evolution.
Our growth has been entirely self-funded, and we have reinvested most of our profits to provide more value to our clients. We are passionate about technology and its use in the video production industry, and this, combined with strategic creativity, has helped us stand out from others in the industry. We have since established a creative studio in Jupiter, FL, to cater to our clients. However, we have also made it available to the community, allowing other creators to use our tools and technology to showcase their talents. Today, we have an incredible team of multi-skilled creatives who work in account management, marketing, and photo/video production. We believe that specialization is not enough in today’s world, and to effectively communicate creative ideas within a team, you must have a broad understanding of how things are made and distributed.
Starting a business is never easy, and success is never guaranteed. However, I strongly believe that hard work and a passion for innovation can slowly but surely tip the scale.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Welcome to Jupiter, FL! I grew up here and after college, I traveled around quite a bit. However, I returned and planted my roots here for good reason. Jupiter is a beautiful town, with its waterways and beaches being the highlight. So, come here ready to hang out in the sun and go boating. Jupiter is also renowned for its ocean water sports. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can take a kitesurfing lesson.
After a day on the water, there are a ton of amazing water-front restaurants that you can’t miss. Grab a cold drink at SquareGrouper or Topside, both of which offer epic views of the intercoastal and iconic Jupiter Lighthouse. If you’re a foodie and want the best Jupiter has to offer, you have to stop in at FoodShack for your fresh-caught seafood fix. While you wait, stop at Wavelength Studios. We are right next door!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Everyone in my life and the community we serve. I owe them everything. Without them, Wavelength would not be where it is today with our studio in Jupiter, FL.
I have learned the most important lesson of my life, starting Wavelength, that anything worth doing is never accomplished alone.
I want to give a shoutout to my wife, Emily, she is an incredible entrepreneur in her own right, and without her love and support, I would be lost.
Without my business partner Joacim’s shoot-for-the-stars aspirations and an unstoppable entrepreneurial mindset, Wavelength would not be what it is today.
There is no way anyone could do this alone.
